Stick To Your List

Be sure to make a shopping list. And don't start it just a few minutes before your trip to the supermarket. Keep a running list in your kitchen. That way, when discover you're running out of an item, you add it then and there.

Avoid shopping without your list and try to buy only those items you have listed. This will eliminate the danger of impulse buying, one of the most deadly threats to economical food shopping. :)

I always make a list, although it's hard to get the kids to add something when they use the last of it. Beyond that though, I make a weekly menu. It's really helped to keep my weekly grocery trips focused.
