Full of beans

Everywhere you look today there are celebrity chefs on TV, on the internet, and in magazines telling us how to cook some fancy dishes with expensive ingredients. These often use professional grade equipment that we would need a second student loan just to buy.

It is all very well asking us to aspire to Michelin Star status in our own homes, but the fact of the matter is that most of us simply can't afford to spend the money needed to get the right results.

It isn't just a financial cost either, the time it takes to make these things means you'd be in the kitchen all day (or night) and let's face it, there's always something better to do than that.
Taking all this into account, this is why there are a few staple foodstuffs in the British diet that are evergreen favourites for people of all ages. These are things that are simple, cost-effective, available everywhere and can be cooked by literally anyone.

Take a straightforward tin of beans for example. Everyone can cook a tin of beans can't they? Have you ever known anyone to mess that one up?
Well, yes, hands up, I'm sure I'm not the only one to have actually burnt a tin of beans beyond recognition, leaving me with not only a scorched inedible mess, but the thankless task of scraping black bits off of a cooking pot for the next three days... Maybe it just seemed like three days.
Anyway, there's a new development which means even I can invite you round for beans on toast in the full knowledge that Michel Roux, Gordon Ramsey and Jamie Oliver couldn't do better. Heinz Baked Beans now come in snap pots which are basically individual sized portions in self contained microwaveable pots. You just snap off the number you need and then pop straight into the microwave – simple.

This means that there is no mess, no washing up, and no chance of burning them either! It also means that you can get your favourite comfort food ready in a flash and sit down in front of the box to watch your favourite shows. Whilst you’re there, you might even catch a glimpse of the advert for the snap pots which is a re-launch of Heniz’ popular ‘ring my bell’ ad.
So remember, as the old saying goes: ‘if you can't stand the heat, simply microwave a snap pot’ – or something like that anyway
