Walking Gear

In addition to being good for you, walking is one of the cheapest “sports” when it comes to buying equipment. All you basically need is a good pair of walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the season.

Your shoes should give your feet room to expand, have good support and, most important, have sufficient cushioning in the sole. This is vital because a great deal of walking is generally done on hard surfaces, like roads and sidewalks, and sufficient cushioning is required to reduce pressure on the internal parts of the feet. If you do not already have a good pair of walking shoes, ensure that when you go shopping for them, you try on shoes at the end of the day. As you may have noticed, feet swell as the day goes on, so trying on a new pair of shoes when your feet are already swollen will allow for a better and more comfortable fit.
